Double Milestones! CSSC Huahai and China Merchants Set Sail on a New Ro-Ro Voyage
Recently, the strategic cooperation between CSSC Huahai and China Merchants has yielded fruitful results: the PCTC vessel “Hoegh Pacific” – built by China Merchants Heavy Industry (Jiangsu) for world-renowned owner Hoegh Autoliners and Zhongquan Group – was successfully named, delivered, and embarked on its maiden voyage.
CSSC Huahai’s General Manager attended the ceremony, and the entire Ro-Ro equipment for the vessel was exclusively designed and supplied by CSSC Huahai. Meanwhile, CSSC Huahai secured the order for Ro-Ro and hatch cover systems for 26,000 DWT ConRo project at China Merchants Jinling Shipyard, marking a new chapter in the partnership.
The “Hoegh Pacific” measures 139.9 meters in length, features 8 vehicle decks (including 2 hoistable decks), with a capacity of 2,450 cars and a cargo area of 20,300 square meters – a modern, intelligent high-end PCTC. As the core supplier, CSSC Huahai meticulously designed the complete Ro-Ro systems, covering stern ramp and door, movable ramps and hoistable decks.
Good news continued: CSSC Huahai signed a contract with China Merchants Jinling Shipyard for the Ro-Ro and hatch cover systems of 26,000 DWT ConRo project, further deepening its strategic cooperation with China Merchants. The owner is BAHRI, a Saudi state‑owned shipping giant. This first collaboration with BAHRI signals CSSC Huahai’s growing recognition among international owners.
For this new project, CSSC Huahai has developed a tailored solution based on customer needs: the control system strictly complies with DNV cybersecurity and IEC 62443 industrial control standards, establishing a comprehensive security framework; the stern ramp is designed for a maximum load of 250 tons with adaptive adjustment technology to accommodate quay height variations and sea conditions; the entire Ro‑Ro area is in compliance with the explosion‑proof Zone 1 standards, fully meeting the requirements for hazardous environment operations.
