CSSC Huahai’s on-site Commissioning Team makes the difference
On September 27th, the naming ceremony of the LNG dual fuel 7,000 CEU PCTC ship „MV Huanghekou“ jointly built by Guangzhou Shipbuilding Intl. (GSI) and CSSC Trade for SPDB Financial Leasing was held.
This is the third new vessel delivered by GSI only 8 days after the delivery of first two similar ships on September 5th and 19th. It is worth mentioning that the complete set of Ro-Ro equipment for this series is delivered by CSSC Huahai. We have provided reliable support for the smooth ship deliveries in various aspects such as design, delivery, installation and commissioning services, and have won high recognition from our customer. GSI specially sent a letter of gratitude to CSSC Huahai to express its confirmation and appreciation.
These first three ships of GSI 7000 CEU PCTC project delivered 6 months, 7 months, and 2 months ahead of the original contractual delivery time respectively. Facing extremely tight working schedule, CSSC Huahai on-site service engineers always operated carefully and withstood the huge work intensity and commissioning pressure without fear of the harsh working environment. They cooperated with the shipyard, raced against time, united and took responsibility, worked hard to ensure installation on time, and finally completed all equipment commissioning within the required time. Especially in the control of critical milestones, our service engineers constantly create new records, such as completing the initial testing of the stern ramp and side ramps before leaving the dock, completing the tightness test of the stern ramps, automation of side ramps and inspection of the internal ramps before LNG bunkering.
Especially during the intensive commissioning phase, CSSC Huahai service engineers were stationed at GSI shipyard for a long time. They studied the drawings carefully, overcame challenges such as high temperature, on-site cross operation, and synchronous commissioning of multiple ships. Facing unexpected situations, the service engineers took the initiative to work overtime and promptly solve to ensure the smooth inspections. Their superb skill level and responsible work attitude have been highly recognized by shipyards, shipowners and classification societies.
Looking back at the first three quarters of 2024, the commissioning team of CSSC Huahai has faced unprecedented pressure and the numbers of successfully completed shipsets of Ro-Ro equipment, Hatch Covers and Winches have increased by 45%, 56% and 178% respectively compared with last year. The impressive data is the „merit medal“ for all of our on-site service engineers. The drum for the last quarter of year 2024 beats, and we’re ready to complete the remaining about 100 shipsets commissioning tasks with passion, quality and efficiency.
